The Life of the Theotokos {Handwriting and Copywork}

Practicing handwriting is a great opportunity to fill our children with good words, Good News and blessings. The best copywork is using a sample of not only good handwriting, but also good and soul filling words and then using your best penmanship to trace and write it on your own.

Throughout my years of homeschool and teaching Sunday School I have relied on Scripture, the hymns of the Faith as well as excellent quotes from good literature for copywork. We learn good language from good language.

I hope that this resource will be helpful for you in your schooling endeavors. Even if your child is in public or private school these are excellent supplements. If you are teaching Sunday School these are a great resource for a warm up when students first come to class or to incorporate when students are learning the Feasts of the Church.

You will find lots space for coloring – and inline icon drawings as well… maybe its because we raised a house full of girls but they always loved to doodle and draw and color on everything… so when things come that naturally it is simply worth incorporating them…

Be sure to check on the last pages of each PDF file for some really beautiful additional resources. For example, on the Magnificat copywork you will find:

  • There are links to audio files of Orthodox Chanting of the Magnificat,
